Okudzeto Ablakwa, Sam George, Rashid Pelpuo and other ministerial nominees to be vetted today

Eight ministerial nominations will be vetted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament today, January 30, 2025, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The Minister-designate for Labor, Jobs, and Employment, Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, will be the first to meet the committee.

The Minister-designate for Environment, Science, and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, will follow him at 9:00 a.m.

Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation, and Samuel Nartey George, the nominee for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, are also expected to undergo vetting.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, the nominee for Transport, and Issifu Seidu, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, will take over at 12:30 p.m. following a little break.

The Ahafo Regional Minister-designate, Mrs. Charity Gardiner, would be the last candidate to undergo vetting.

Prior to legislative approval, the vetting process seeks to assess each nominee’s qualifications, vision, and fit for their various ministerial responsibilities.
