The National Democratic Congress(NDC), the largest opposition party, has re-elected George Opare Addo as its National Youth Organizer.

Yaw Brogya Genfi, the previous Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akuapem North, was his lone opponent in the election, which was held in the Examination Hall of the University of Cape Coast.

At the conclusion of voting and ballot counting, Opare Addo, alias Pablo, received 533 votes, compared to Brogya Genfi’s 508 votes.

On December 11, 2022, early on Saturday, results were announced.

During the vote tallying, there was a tense moment as each candidate’s supporters chanted and danced while asserting their victory.

Opare Addo has now defeated Genfi twice in a row. Opare Addo previously defeated Genfi in 2018.

Ruth Dela Sedorm and Osman Abdulai Ayariga are Opare Addo’s elected representatives.

The National Executives Congress, which will oversee the election of officers to manage the party’s activities through the elections of 2024, is one week after the National Youth Organizer and Women’s Organizer Conference.
