Pay all our debts and use the Ghc 1.20 pesewas to cook for the students yourself – School Feeding Caterers

Due to government dishonesty, caterers who are part of the School Feeding Program are requesting that the government pay them all of their arrears and take over the feeding of schoolchildren.

Under the school feeding program, The Caterers had suggested a GHC3.50 allotment per lunch for students.

This follows the government’s counter-proposal to raise the feeding grant from 98 pesewas to GHC1.20p.

In an interview with Otec FM, Dorothy Ofori Sarpong, spokesperson for the National School Feeding Caterers Association, stated that the Gender Ministry should reassess their suggested GHC1.20P since it is so pathetically insufficient.

We told the Minister, “We are not going to accept it. Please go and come back because you said it’s a proposed figure, not a confirmed one. Please go and tell those who helped you to propose that amount that we are not going to accept it.”We will simply ask her to settle all of our debts before taking over their position because we are unable to cook with GHC1.20P.

They won’t even have a table with us to discuss the struggles the women are going through. They cannot make decisions and will not take into account that we are stakeholders. They don’t give a damn about anything we are going through, whether it’s good or bad.

They simply force us to do what they want, and we won’t put up with it any longer.

The spokesperson for the caterers in Ghana, Dorothy Ofori Sarpong, slammed the government for failing to respond to their demands in an interview with Captain Koda on Otec FM monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com.

“No one in the national headquarters or the presidency will claim they are unaware of what is happening. They know us because we are their spouses, sisters, and daughters, as well as their husbands. Nobody has even gone to the trouble of asking why we have been shouting for so long.

“They prefer to insult us that we are defaming them, but they don’t care about what we are going through, which is why I say that they [the government] are heartless; people are dying, and they care not.” We’ve been everywhere, and everyone knows something about our case,” stated Madam Dorothy Ofori Sarpong.

The caterers responded when asked if their public outburst would not have an impact on the party’s prospects in the general elections of 2024: “Unless they supply anything we are requesting, then we can gain momentum and campaign for them as a listening government.

They ought to pay attention to our cries and grant our requests. All of us will fall asleep if they reject. We won’t act in such a way once more to give them the opportunity to rule over us till they pay us our money.
