Following violent altercations between students from the university’s Katanga and Unity Halls, the police have brought peace back to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus.

“The Police are in solid control of the situation and investigation is proceeding to arrest those behind these tragic, senseless, and indefensible attacks and bring them to face justice,” said a post on the police department’s Facebook page.

We thus implore all law-abiding students to maintain their composure and help the police as we handle the situation.

On Thursday night, a fight between residents of the Continental and University Halls resulted in the destruction of various campus properties, including vehicles.

What caused the violence is unknown.
