At the ‘Save Ghana Football’ protests, some demonstrators have demanded that football administrators resign from their positions if they are unable to improve the Black Stars.
The Black Stars’ group stage exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations marks the third time in a row that the squad has finished out of the first round of a major competition.
Since taking over five years ago, the Ghana Football Association, led by Kurt Okraku, has been looking for a fifth coach for the Black Stars.
The protest began at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra and is still going on today.
The Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Asylum Down, and the Ghana Football Association headquarters will be traversed by the demonstrators en route to their petition presentation.
Subsequently, they will carry out the same action at the Ghanaian Parliament, culminating the demonstration at Independence Square.
“The leaders, they should fix the team for us,” yelled one of the demonstrators. All of them ought to resign from their positions if they are unable to help the Black Stars’ predicament.
