Six-unit classroom block left to rot as students study under tree at Twedie

Pupils of Twedie D/A JHS withinside the Atwima Kwanwoma district of the Ashanti Region are being forced to learn under trees as a six-unit school room block is yet to be provided and commissioned.

The six-unit school room block that’s meant to host both JHS 1 A&B, JHS 2 A&B, and JHS 3 A&B has been deserted for nearly years now.

Owing to this fact, the structural integrity of the constructing that host JHS 1 A&B and JHS 2 A&B is now in question, as it’s far developing extreme cracks and holes whilst JHS 3 A&B learn at under trees. Meanwhile, its environment had been left bushy and serving as a host to reptiles and perilous animals whilst college students for whom the building was constructed for study in a dilapidated wooden structure and trees.

Hon Augustine Osei, Assembly member for the vicinity expressed dismay with the deserted project that’s now at the roofing level.

According to him the building while absolutely provided and commissioned will function a fulcrum of education for Twedie Community and its surrounding communities.

“We find it disturbing that a school building that’s ninety-percentage complete ought to be deserted for years now by the Ghana Education Fund (GETFUND) for it to deteriorate as college students are learning under trees”.

“Whenever It rains, the school must be closed ,we’re calling on the GETFUND to do the needful and commission the school for use, due to the fact this six-unit school room block while in operation will now no longer serve only Twedie Community but additionally it’s neighbouring communities” he said.

Hon Augustine Osei then made a passionate enchantment to the authorities and GETFUND as a matter of urgency pay the contractor to grant the lecture rooms with the wanted teaching and learning materials.
