Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, has ordered that the Post-2024 Budget Workshop take place in the parliament.
After deliberating over whether to hold the session at the Volta Serene Hotel or the Rock City Hotel, members of parliament came to this conclusion.
This comes after Buem MP Kofi Adams pushed for the MPs to host the workshop in Accra rather than elsewhere in order to save money given the state of the economy.
However, the workshop was originally announced by Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to take place in the Rock City Hotel in the Eastern Region on November 17–19.
Ultimately, Speaker Bagbin decided that the post-budget workshop should take place on Parliament grounds.
“Democracy has finally decided, and the people have prevailed on their representatives to decide that this year’s post-budget workshop be held here in Parliament” Bagbin said.
