The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has requested that two Members of Parliament (MPs), Mustapha Yussif and Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), be released for investigation, and Speaker of the House of Parliament Alban Bagbin has granted this request.
The Speaker accepted the request while acknowledging the security procedures and constitutional restrictions in a letter signed by Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, the Clerk to Parliament.
The letter said, “Parliament, in principle, agrees to the request in the above matter.”
The MPs have been instructed to show up at the Sir Emmanuel Charles Quist Conference Room in Parliament on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM for an initial meeting with NIB representatives.
However, the Speaker suggested that the lawmakers bring their legal counsel to the meeting.
“The Hon. Members will be required to have their lawyers present at the interaction,” the letter highlighted.
