Ibrahim Baba Bukari (Chairman IB), the Bono East Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is pleading with the candidates for both the presidency and the senate to act honorably and refrain from using derogatory language.

Candidates should adhere to issue-based campaigns, says Chairman IB, also known as the Game Changer, because they will ultimately help the NPP’s effort to “Break The Eight.”

In light of the escalating competition for the party’s flagbearership and parliamentary primaries, Chairman IB highlighted the value of a moral and polite campaign.

Speaking to reporters in Techiman on July 15, 2023, Chairman IB emphasized the need of maintaining harmony within the NPP.

He emphasized that it is vital for everyone to understand that in order to fight the “main enemy,” which is the NDC, a united front is required.

“We must understand that the current campaign is an internal election. Our primary opponent in 2024 is the NDC. As you embark on this campaign, let us refrain from speaking ill of one another and attacking the Akofo Addo Bawumia’s government because it’s the very legacy we’re going to build our campaign on as a party going into the 2024 election” Chairman IB said.

He added, “We seek peace, a clean campaign, and a fair election. We do not want anyone to engage in attacks against their opponents. After the elections, we will require everyone’s support to tackle the NDC.”

In order to maintain party unity, Chairman IB has encouraged all campaign teams and well-wishers to use language carefully.

We must maintain our unity since we are one big family. We shall unite as a unified front after the election to prevent the NDC from taking back control. The need for unity cannot be overstated. Let’s uphold the NPP’s position of authority and promote party cohesion, said Bono East Regional Chairman.
