“There is reason for hope” – Mahama tells Ghanaians

In his inauguration speech, newly elected Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama promised to implement change, use prudence, and act promptly.

Mahama recognized the dire situation facing the nation today and emphasized the commitment of his administration to enacting constitutional reforms, fostering good governance, and reestablishing economic stability.

As he thanked Ghanaians for giving him their mandate, the president also reaffirmed his commitment to fighting corruption.

With the help of his vice president, Naana Jane Opoku Adjemang, he promised the country that he would put in endless effort to restore hope and start a path toward development and inclusivity.

Mahama’s victory in the general election’s of 2024 ushers in his new term as president with his inaugural address.

President Mahama urged all Ghanaians to assume shared responsibility for the country’s transformation. He asserted optimism and faith in the country’s potential while noting the difficulties that lie ahead, saying, “There is reason for hope, but we must also have faith, because faith empowers us to trust in what will happen.” He thinks the nation can rebuild its economy and institutions and create a prosperous future by being united and having faith.

In order to initiate this change, the President listed 26 major measures that his administration will do in the first 120 days. These measures are intended to rebuild and fortify the nation’s institutions and structures.

“We need faith to reset what we have inherited—our institutions, our economy, and more,” he said.
