At Ejisu-Achina in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region, a tipper truck reportedly collided with a Mercedes Benz, killing four persons, among them a senior pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

The deadly collision happened on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, about 12:00 p.m. Two other people also suffered serious injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, three of the four victims passed away immediately, while the fourth victim passed away while seeking medical attention at a hospital.

On OTEC FM’s social program “Asem Beba Dabi,” Mr. Edward Opoku, who hurried to the location to aid the rescue crew, related the incident.

“The Benz vehicle with registration number GW- 7329-X with the four deceased and en route to Ejisu Achina collided with the Tipper truck with registration number GR-9570-22 causing massive destruction to the Benz car”.

“When we got to the scene, the four people, three men and a woman were trapped in the seriously dented vehicle and it took a while for the officials of the Ghana National Fire Service GNFS to cut open the damaged car to rescue the accident victims “, told the programme’s host Krobea Asante.

The SDA pastor, according to what we were told, was traveling to Achina with a male companion when he picked up two church members who were leaving a hospital, but their vehicle eventually collided with the tipper truck.

According to the tipper truck driver who is presently seeking medical attention after suffering injuries, he failed to break while navigating a tight curve on the Achina-Onwe road, which caused the horrific crash.

The deceased’s bodies have since been placed in a mortuary.
