A vendor from the Kejetia Market was detained on Tuesday for reportedly using an LPG cylinder to cook inside her business, which is not permitted in the market.

She was taken into custody the day the market resumed business after a fire destroyed several of the establishment’s businesses.

As they allegedly observed the woman cooking inside her shop, some traders allegedly alerted the authorities.

The woman was detained on March 21 at 2:00 PM, according to Nana Kwasi Prempeh, president of the Kejetia Trades Union, and was released on bond on Wednesday.

He declared that the Kejetia Market administration would start legal proceedings to prosecute the suspect.

Felicia Opoku, whose store allegedly experienced an explosion that set off the fire, has been supporting the police and fire department’s investigations in the meantime.

The Kejetia Market’s vendors promise to keep their guard up in order to stop their coworkers from engaging in any unlawful activity there.

The traders’ association promises to keep informing business owners about safety precautions to avert calamities in the future.
