Bryan Acheampong, a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Abetifi Constituency, has firmly indicated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will use all of its resources to win the 2024 general elections.

He claims that because the NPP is not prepared to cede power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), his party will be well-prepared for the election.

He claimed that the NPP has the men to compete head-to-head with the opposition National Democratic Congress in the 2024 elections.

On April 8, 2023, Bryan Acheampong addressed party supporters following a health walk through the main streets of Mpraeso. He emphasized that “We will show NDC that we have the men if they want to do intimidate, harass us or do anything foolish during the 2024 elections…It will not happen that we will hand over power to NDC. We’ll use any means for NPP to stay in power.”

Meanwhile, seven candidates have declared their intention to run for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearership.

They are Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president; Alan Kyerematen, a former Trade and Industry Minister; Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former Food and Agriculture Minister; Kwabena Agyapong, a former General Secretary of the NPP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency, Hon Francis Addai Nimoh former MP for Mampong, Joe Ghartey former Speaker of Parliament.

The NPP presidential primaries to choose a flagbearer for the general elections in 2024 will take place on November 4, 2023.
