Ghanaians have been reassured by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson that the Mahama-led government will not delay in tackling the nation’s problems and will launch an ambitious reset agenda right now.
He said this on Wednesday, January 22, at the Jubilee House at the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed ministers.
During his speech, Dr. Forson recognized the substantial challenges that the energy, education, agricultural, transportation, and justice sectors face.
“Mr President, we are also aware of the state of the Ghanaian economy, the state of the energy sector, the state of our justice system, the state of our roads sector, the state of the agricultural sector, and the state of the education sector. While we start working today, we will begin the reset agenda of the country,” he stated.
Six cabinet nominees were formally sworn into office during the swearing-in event, which was presided over by President John Dramani Mahama.
Among those sworn in are Governs Kwame Agbodza as Minister of Roads and Highways, Eric Opoku as Minister of Food and Agriculture, Haruna Iddrisu as Minister of Education, John Jinapor as Minister of Energy and Green Transition, and Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General.
Reminding the ministers of the high standards of the Ghanaian people, President Mahama assigned them the responsibility of giving efficiency and innovation top priority in their various portfolios.
This decision was supported by Dr. Forson’s statements, in which he reassured the country of the administration’s commitment to implementing long-term reforms and growth.
