A three-member regional committee has been established by the Ghana Education Service (GES) administration to verify the qualifications of teachers whose appointments were canceled last month.

The process will be validated by the committee, which consists of a regional accountant, regional internal auditor, and regional human resource officer.

To aid in the validation process, impacted employees are therefore asked to provide their appointment letters, academic credentials, licenses, and national service certificates.

By March 14, 2025, the impacted employees should have completed the validation process.

“In reference to our earlier letter dated February 17, 2025, with Reference No. GES/HMRD/REV.25/01 on the above theme, management of the GES request all affected staff to have their recruitment validated and reinstated in order to clean up the database of all recruited staff on the GES payroll,” the circular stated.

It stated that the success of the exercise will depend on the staff’s cooperation.

On February 17, 2025, the GES revoked all recruitment and appointments of teaching and non-teaching employees who had not yet been put on government payroll.

Following a command from the Chief of Staff as detailed in a letter dated February 10, 2025, the decision went into effect immediately.

All regional, district, municipal, and metropolitan directors of education have been directed to ensure strict adherence to the instruction, according to a statement signed by Prof. Davis.
