Suspected thief stoned to death at Wa

According to reports, Nana Hamdan, a suspected goat thief, was killed after being stoned in Sombo, Wa Municipality.

The 23-year-old man apparently got caught in the act and was asked to give up the goat that had been taken, but he refused.

He was then supposedly stoned to death by an angry mob.

A gang of young people who were furious and plotted to catch persons who were continually stealing from them caught him.

When discussing the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com, Nhyiraba Rex Kobi Antieku said the police arrived late.

After leaving his motorcycle parked in the woods, the deceased is said to have stolen the goat.

But he ran out of luck when angry locals caught him and allegedly stoned him to death.

He was reportedly stoned by the attackers after they tethered him to the goat.

The goat perished in the process as well. The cops soon found the deceased’s body.  His motorcycle was also set on fire by the assailants.

Later, he was interred in accordance with Islamic norms.

The young man, according to several locals who talked on the record under the condition of anonymity, was a well-known robber who had been warned to stop acting illegally but had refused.
