Movement for Change’s founder and leader, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has announced plans to establish a Traders Bank in Ghana as part of a policy intervention aimed at supporting the private sector.

Mr. Kyerematen stressed the importance of traders in the country’s development and promised that any government under his leadership would prioritize their welfare.

These statements were made during an impromptu visit to the Madina market after a recent fire devastated parts of the market to express sympathy and support to those affected by the outbreak.

He pointed out that although traders are an essential conduit between producers and consumers, they need to be able to obtain reasonably priced financing in order to remain in business.

In response to this obstacle, Mr. Kyerematen pledged to create a Traders Bank that would be owned by traders and would comprehend the ins and outs of trading while offering easily accessible credit and lending options.

Recognizing that the majority of Ghanaians are engaged in trade of some kind, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen visited many market centers around the nation as part of his campaign trip.

He emphasized that the government must place a high premium on the wellbeing of traders.

Apart from founding the Traders Bank, Mr. Kyerematen presented his intentions to transform the infrastructure of the retail sector by constructing new market centers around the nation.

He promised to provide incentives to encourage the private sector to build these facilities, even though he acknowledged that government resources might not be sufficient for this endeavor.

In addition, he stressed the need of these contemporary market centers offering necessary amenities like medical facilities, daycare centers, and truck stations in order to create a safe and favorable atmosphere for trade and business to develop.

Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen’s commitment to assisting the private sector and promoting economic progress in Ghana is demonstrated by his efforts to address the requirements of merchants through policy interventions and infrastructural development.
