NPP Primaries: Agona West MP Cynthia Morrison loses candidacy

On Saturday, April 13, Cynthia Morrison, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, was defeated in the parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The MP received 152 votes, while Christopher Arthur, the party’s parliamentary candidate, received 240 votes.

At Otabilkrom Astroturf in Agona Swedru, the primary was held.

With 221 votes, Ben Yamoah came in second, Yawson Otoo got 168, and Joseph Afrankwa got 155.

First elected in the 2016 local parliamentary election, Cynthia Morrison has been a member of parliament for two terms.
