In connection with the riots that took place at the Ashanti regional NDC executives election conducted on Sunday, November 13, 2022, the police have detained one additional person.
With the arrest of suspect Bashiru Atta, there are now four people in custody for the disturbances.
Yahya Shaibu Tia and Fati Ibrahim, the two accused individuals who had previously been detained, were arraigned in front of the Atwima Akropong District Court on Monday, November 14.
While Fati Ibrahim was given bail with three sureties, the accused Yahya Shaibu Tia was remanded into police custody to appear before the court again on November 21, 2022.

POLICE UPDATE ON DISTURBANCES DURING NDC ASHANTI REGIONAL EXECUTIVES ELECTION; ONE MORE SUSPECT ARRESTED
The Police have arrested one more suspect in connection with the disturbances which occurred during the Ashanti regional NDC executives election held on Sunday, 13th November 2022.
The arrest of suspect Bashiru Atta brings to four the total number of persons arrested over the disturbances.
Meanwhile accused persons Yahya Shaibu Tia and Fati Ibrahimwho were earlier arrested were on Monday November 14 arraigned before the Atwima Akropong District Court.
Accused Yahya Shaibu Tia was remanded into Police custody to reappear before the court on November 21, 2022, while Fati Ibrahim was granted bail with three sureties.
