In the approaching by-elections, the Convention Peoples Party’s national youth organizer is pleading with Assin North voters in the Central Region to cast a sizable number of ballots against the disgraced former member of Parliament.

The National Youth Organizer of Osagyefo’s Party, Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah, claims that Mr. Gyakyie Quayson has only brought Assin North’s name and residents humiliation.

Despite the CPP’s decision to abstain from the bye-elections in order to focus on party preparations for next month’s July elections, Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah stated that he believes anyone other than Mr. Gyakyie Quayson would be a better choice to represent the Assin North residents.

Quoting article 94 clause 2 (a) of the 1992 Constitution, Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah says Mr Gyakyie Quayson knew from the onset that he did not qualify to represent the people of Assin North since he was also a Canadian citizen.

He expressed amazement that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is so adamant about nominating Mr. Gyakyie Quayson for the position of parliamentary candidate and believes that Mr. Quayson misled to the NDC as a Party and the People of Assin North.

Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah thinks that Mr. Gyakyie Quayson and the NDC as a whole lack respect for the residents of Assin North because, rather than offering an apology for the unfortunate incident that has made Assin North’s name laughable, they chose to install the same individuals who were responsible for the same mishap.

He is therefore calling on the people of Assin North to severely punish both the NDC and Mr Gyakyie Quayson for not apologizing to them and for imposing the same person on them.

He goes on to wonder whether the NDC’s actions indicate that they are lacking males in the Assin North Constituency.

This, he claims, is a trumpet cry to all political parties that support the “Journey just come” a person who returns to the country with some foreign currency after spending a considerable amount of time abroad.
