At long last President Akufo-Addo sacks Adwoa Safo as Minister

Sarah Adwoa Safo’s position as minister of gender, children, and social protection has been canceled with immediate effect by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In accordance with article 81 (a) of the Constitution, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has immediately revoked the appointment of Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, MP for Dome Kwabenya, as Minister of Gender, Child, and Social Protection, according to a statement from the presidency signed by Director of Communication Eugene Arhin on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah will continue to act as caretaker Minister of the sector, the statement added.
“The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, will continue to act as caretaker minister of the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Protection, until such a time that President Akufo-Addo appoints a substantive minister”.
