On Saturday, newly promoted Bofoakwa Tano defeated Hearts of Oak 1-0 at their home field in Sunyani to continue their strong start to the Ghana Premier League.

Both teams were keen to get their second victory of the year, but Bofoakwa Tano prevailed.

The game’s hero was the young attacker Saaka Dauda, who capitalized on a Hearts of Oak defensive blunder to score the decisive goal.

Hearts of Oak suffered yet another defeat on the road after beginning their campaign with a comparable 1-0 loss in Tamale.

The team led by coach Martin Koopman would definitely be dissatisfied with themselves for not being able to match their performance from the previous weekend, when they defeated Nsoatreman in Accra.

Due to their strong start to the season, Bofoakwa Tano temporarily held the top spot in the league standings. Their stunning comeback to the first division after a 16-year absence has given their supporters every reason to rejoice in their team’s revival.

While Hearts of Oak must refocus and regroup in order to recover when they play Dreams FC in their upcoming encounter, Bofoakwa Tano can rejoice in their most recent success.
