MTN Ghana recently commemorated Global Ethics Day with an intriguing podcast discussion about fighting corruption and bribery.
Aligning with the global theme “Ethics Empowered” MTN Ghana’s local theme, “Heightening Anti-Bribery and Corruption Practices”, underscored its commitment to ethical business practices.
The Ethics Podcast highlighted MTN’s extensive anti-bribery and anti-corruption training and awareness initiatives, which prioritize prevention and a strict zero-tolerance stance.
MTN’s continuous training and awareness campaigns on the company’s anti-bribery and corruption policies are enhanced by the podcast.
Commenting on the celebration, Mr. Joseph Dogbe, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for MTN Ghana, stated, “This year, we focused on anti-bribery and corruption, which is a critical risk area. We are committed to promoting business ethics to ensure MTN’s sustainability and growth. This celebration reaffirms MTN’s dedication to ethics and integrity while promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.”
Panelists from MTN Ghana and MobileMoney Limited’s various divisions spoke on the mechanisms, procedures, and technology that currently help them combat corruption and bribery. In keeping with their pledge to tolerate no unethical activity, they also emphasized the company’s consequence management procedures, outlining the steps MTN will take in the event of bribery or corruption.
The panelists underlined that MTN Ghana’s ethical standards and values are essential to the company’s long-term viability and stakeholder interest protection, as well as to empowering MTN employees to have a constructive impact on society at large.
Participants were urged to use the company’s anonymous whistleblower channel to report any unethical activity and to consult the Ethics Office for advice when they were presented with moral conundrums.
MTN Ghana is unwavering in its resolve to maintain morality and honesty in commercial dealings. While the corporation prioritized fraud prevention in 2022, it developed initiatives in 2023 that addressed harassment and discrimination.
