MTN Ghana celebrated the 15th anniversary of MTN MoMo, its mobile money service, which was a significant milestone.
The firm celebrated by hosting a special dinner and awards ceremony to honor outstanding merchants and agents who have made major contributions to MTN MoMo’s expansion.
The Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi hosted the event, which emphasized MTN’s dedication to financial inclusion and the vital role its stakeholders have played in the advancement of the service.
MTN MoMo has revolutionized Ghana’s financial sector since its 2009 inception by offering millions of people safe, easy, and reasonably priced mobile money services.
Nii Adotey Mingle, the general manager of the Northern Business District, emphasized MTN MoMo’s important contribution to Ghana’s economy while acknowledging the difficulties the company had in its early years.
In his overview of MTN MoMo’s future plans, Mr. Mingle emphasized the significance of adopting cutting-edge technologies to improve services and satisfy the expanding needs of the financial industry.
He highlighted the substantial prospects in sectors like digital payments, cross-border payments, insurance, investments, and e-commerce, and he acknowledged the fintech sector’s explosive potential in Ghana.
The Northern Business District’s Senior Business Manager, Simon Amoh, praised the media, agents, and merchants for their contributions to MTN MoMo’s explosive growth.
At the MTN MoMo @15 Northern Business District Stakeholder Dinner and Awards Night, Frank Osei, CEO of Franko Bestigue Ventures, was named the top agent.
He was given a GHc 20,000.00 cash reward, a brand-new motorcycle, and a commemorative plaque as part of the rich package that came with winning the prestigious award in the overall agent category.
Mr. Osei was overjoyed to receive this prestigious honor and thanked MTN for it.
A special award was given to Madam Rita Mensah for her involvement in MTN Ghana’s well-known “Mensa Aka” commercial. The awards ceremony also honored notable agents, merchants, and partners for their exceptional service.
