Former president John Dramani Mahama has referred to the Akufo-Addo administration as “the biggest political scam in the 4th Republic.”
He argues that this is due to the nation’s extreme economic problems.
On Sunday, Mr. Mahama asserted that President Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamadu Mahamadu, were directly to blame for the country’s current economic troubles. He was speaking at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) opposition’s Lawyers’ Conference.
He bemoaned the current status of the economy while praising the NDC’s ability to quickly turn things around.
“Ghanaians look to the NDC to revive optimism and reverse the motherland’s fortunes from the pitiful position in which we currently find ourselves.
Ghana, our motherland, is currently through a severe crisis.
The position of our economy is catastrophic, according to Mahama.
Mr. Mahama remarked, “Our economic fortunes are growing worse every day.
Ghana is undergoing an unprecedented economic collapse as a result of a rapidly appreciating currency and raging inflation, which is currently estimated to be above 30%.
“Let me add without a doubt that this is the government that has proven to be the biggest political swindle in the history of the Fourth Republic,” the former president continued.
The Akufo-Addo and Bawumia NPP government continues to be the worst in our 4th Republic’s history, according to current indicators.
The former head of state spoke at a time when the viability and ratings of Ghana’s economy appeared to have reached an all-time low.
