Afrafranto, a walk organized by over 300,000 dynamic youth and women groups, joined Alan’s Movement for Change, causing a significant change in the political landscape of the Ashanti Region.

The astounding revolution, which saw over 300,000 members of women’s and youth groups join the Movement for Change (MFC) train, validated Hon. Alan Kyerematen’s political class as the organization’s founder and leader.

Ahead of Ghana’s general elections in 2024, the Yellow Army political revolution—which was spearheaded by Hon. Alan Kyerematen—marks a dramatic break from customary political support practices.

Celebrated national icons like Sister Afia, Twene Jonas, and Oliver Khan, dubbed “the ship dealer,” participated in the massive Afafranto Unity Walk, giving the movement voice and influence.

Their participation has increased the movement’s visibility and indicated a change in support for Alan Kyerematen’s cause.

After more than ten years of dedicated service in Ghana’s Trade and Industry Ministry under two distinct regimes, Kyerematen’s decision to leave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and found the Movement for Change was a risky and significant development in the political landscape of the nation.

Widespread support and attention have been shown for the Yellow Revolution, particularly as a result of activities like the critically acclaimed Afafranto Walk and other community-based projects.

The symbolism of the color yellow has become synonymous with this movement. It represents a fresh approach to politics in the Ashanti Region, a departure from the conventional party lines that have historically defined the region’s political allegiance.

The widespread support gained by the Yellow Revolution confirmed the growing disillusionment among the Ashanti populace with conventional politics.

Alan Kyerematen’s track record and commitment to effecting change resonated strongly with many Ghanaians seeking a departure from entrenched political tactics.

As the 2024 General Elections draw nearer, the Yellow Revolution continues to gather momentum with each passing day.
