Paul Kwah, the driver of an articulated truck that was involved in a deadly car accident on August 3, 2022, in Eduagyei Village on the Cape Coast-Takoradi route, has been detained by the Central Regional Police Command.
According to a preliminary inquiry, suspect driver Paul Kwah was transporting 850 bags of cement from Takoradi to Accra in a Dad Flat Body Articulated Truck with the registration number GM 2670-12.
When he got to Eduagyei village, he carelessly passed some cars and ran into an approaching Toyota Hiace mini bus with the number WR 1347-17.
A medical official at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital has confirmed that the driver and all 11 occupants of the Toyota Hiace vehicle are dead.
One female passenger who survived the collision is doing well under the care of this hospital.
In order to help identify the accident victims, the Police are collaborating with the relatives of the deceased.
“While we commiserate with the affected families, we continue to entreat all road users to be disciplined, responsible and demonstrate a sense of humanity and adhere to road regulations in order to avoid such preventable accidents” Police added in their statement.
