The deadline for KPMG to finish its audit of the transaction between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilization Ghana Ltd (SML) has been extended by President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Originally set for Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the new date is Friday, February 23, 2024.

This comes after KPMG asked the President to extend the two weeks that the company was initially given to complete the assignment. KPMG has until Friday, February 23, 2024, at the latest, to turn in its final report.

Additionally, President Akufo-Addo has acknowledged the request from GRA, requesting authorization to keep the monitoring system that SML has installed and is using in spite of the company’s decision to halt operations related to GRA.

GRA’s request has been denied by the President, who has issued an order maintaining the status quo regarding the contract’s suspension of performance until the audit is finished and KPMG submits its audit report.
