On Monday, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of the republic, departed for a six-day working trip to Spain, France, and the United Kingdom.
President Akufo-Addo will attend the Aqaba Process conference of West Africa and the Sahel in Cordoba, Spain, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the joint invitation of His Majesty Felipe Juan Pablo Alfonso VI of Spain and His Majesty Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan.
He will go to Paris, France, at H. E. Emmanuel Macron’s request, to attend the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, which will take place from June 22–23, 2023. On June 23, 2023, he will travel to the United Kingdom for a private visit.
He was accompanied by the Hon. Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, as well as Presidency representatives.
On Saturday, June 24, 2023, President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana. In his absence, Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will act in his place in accordance with Article 60, Section 8 of the Constitution.
