The State of the Nation Address (SONA) will be given by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo tomorrow, February 27, at Parliament in Accra.
The President uses this yearly speech, which is required by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, to give a summary of the current state of the country at the start of each session of Parliament.
President Akufo-Addo has the chance to update the country on a number of subjects during the State of the Nation Address, or SONA, such as the economic recovery program, infrastructure advancements, and his pledge to guarantee a free, fair, and transparent election later in the year.
The address is important because it gives the President a way to answer to the people through Parliament and gives them information about the government’s plans, obstacles, and accomplishments in a variety of areas.
One of President Akufo-Addo’s last chances to address the public directly before his term expires on January 6, 2025, is this coming address.
