A portion of the arrears owing to contractors, according to Minister of Roads and Highways Kwasi Amoako-Atta, will be paid before the year is over.
Despite the challenges, the country’s contractors are doing an admirable job, and I want to reassure them that the government will continue to act in their best interests and will make any overdue payments going forward.
Before the end of the year, “a portion of overdue [payments] are going to be affected, and it will continue.”
The pledge was made by Mr. Amoako-Atta during his speech to the audience at the 2022 Nine Lessons and Carols of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), which was put on in coordination with the ministry of Roads and Highways.
Additionally, he urged Ghanaians in places with unfinished roads to maintain their composure while the government works to gather resources for the nation’s huge road development program.
The general public is entitled to excellent roads.
I ask for patience and calm from everyone who hasn’t had their time yet,” he stated.
