Dubik Mahama has resigned from his position as managing director of the national power distributor, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), which he was appointed to by President Nana Akufo-Addo in May 2022.
Kwame Agyeman-Budu was replaced by Dubik.
The resignation letter was sent to Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the majority leader in parliament and the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constinuency, who is the board chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Dubik Mahama stated that his resignation was due to “personal reasons” without providing any information.
The administration has not yet addressed the development.
“I am writing to formally resign from my position as Managing Director of Electricity Company of Ghana, effective two weeks from the above date. The decision has not come easily, but after much reflection, I have concluded that it in my best interest to step away for personal reasons,” portions of his letter read
“I also wish to express my sincerest gratitude to the President for the trust placed in me, which has been a significant aspect of my journey here,” Dubik stated.
