John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, expressed his thoughts on Ghana’s economy and claimed that President Nana Akufo-Addo was not doing his job.
These remarks come at a time when Ghanaians’ worries about the country’s social and economic problems are growing.
According to John Mahama, the president of Ghana from 2012 to 2017, expressed these opinions when he visited the Omanhene of Bodi in the Western North.
He emphasized what he believed to be the current government’s lack of commitment and leadership in addressing the most important issues facing the country.
“The economy is in a mess and we need someone with experience to come and fix the economy. Because it appears that Akufo-Addo has given up. When he asked about how he was going to fix the economic challenges, Akufo-Addo said someone else must take the nation forward” Mahama stated.
“The only party that can fix the economy of Ghana is the NDC, we have done it before and we are the only party that can fix Ghana’s economy. At this point what Ghana needs is experience. Someone who has done it before and can do it again,” Mahama said.
