The National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to Mark Oliver Kevor, the Eastern Regional Chairman, would employ all necessary means to oust the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from power in 2024.

He was responding to the inflammatory remarks made over the weekend in Kwahu by Bryan Acheampong, MP for the Abetifi Constituency.

During John Dramani Mahama’s tour of the Eastern Region as the potential NDC flagbearer, Mark Oliver Kevor addressed party supporters.

“The NPP is self-aware the time has come for John Mahama to be President, so it has resorted to intimidation. The NPP is threatening not to hand over power to the NDC in 2024. As regional chairman, I believe I have the support of other executives at the various levels, and so I say, we will also devise any means to snatch power from the governing NPP to John Mahama. We are ready as a party to match the NPP boot for boot.”

The party, according to John Dramani Mahama, is unconcerned by Bryan Acheampong’s assertions that the NPP will never cede power to the NDC.

Speaking to the crowd on Tuesday, Mr. Mahama declared that the NDC would not minimize the role of God in the 2024 elections, despite the NPP’s position.

He claimed that God had already predetermined the results of the 2024 elections and that nothing anyone could do would change that.

“When God speaks, no one can change it so let’s continue to pray and believe as Ghanaians that whatever God has put in place will come to pass.”

On a three-day campaign tour, the former president is in the Eastern Region. He met branch executives and delegates from the Okere and Akuapem North and South constituencies at Akropong as part of the tour.

The former president also urged party members to run a respectable campaign and support the eventual winner because the 2024 elections are the main goal.

In the meantime, the National Democratic Congress’ Eastern Regional Executives have endorsed the former president in advance of the party’s parliamentary and presidential contests.

The former president’s loyal supporter Mark Oliver Kevor claimed that Mr. Mahama has already been tried and tested.
