Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader, minister of parliamentary affairs, and member of parliament for Suame, has tasked his constituency executives, polling station coordinators, and assembly members to put the needs of the NPP’s 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections ahead of any personal or political interests.

If the Party in Suame, the Ashanti Region, and the entire Ghana fail to unite for this shared goal, he claimed, the New Patriotic Party’s desire to “Break The 8” would be nothing more than sloganeering.

He provided his captains with the current NPP Administration’s compelling records in the areas of road infrastructure, industrialization, agriculture, education, energy, digitization, security, amongst others, to prove to them that whoever says the NPP has no message, going into the 2024 elections, is rather lost in the woods.

He therefore urged them to suppress any sense of entitlement and cooperate in order to accomplish the larger goal of breaking the eight.

During the event, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu reiterated his intention to leave the Legislative Assembly at the conclusion of his current term. He admitted that there is enormous pressure from several high profile personalities to reconsider his decision, but affirmed that he believes he can serve Suame, the Ashanti Region, and mother Ghana, in different capacities when the opportunity avails itself.

The Majority Leader made the decision while having dinner with the Assembly Members, Electoral Area Coordinators, and Constituency Executives of the NPP in Suame during the 2023 Easter Celebrations, along with his Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye.

He reassured them that Suame is a large family and exhorted everyone in attendance to work without malice and with a clear conscience.

He finished by pleading with God to forgive any of those whom he might have unintentionally offended over his previous service. He also told them that he has unconditionally pardoned anyone who may have harmed him at that time.
