Highlife musician Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr. from Ghana has passed away.
According to reports, the veteran died in Kumasi’s Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the early hours of May 16, 2023.
The news was confirmed on Twitter by his son Akwaboah Jnr, who has always cited his father as one of his key mentors.
His son Akwaboah Jnr. posted on Instagram to confirm his passing.
He posted a picture of his father and wrote, “RIP DADDY.”
Songs like “Awerekyekyere” and “Hini Me,” among others, are credited to him.
The late C.K. Mann and Rex Owusu Marfo were two of Ghana’s greatest artists, and guitarist Kwadwo Akwaboah Senior frequently performed with them.
He was also a part of the renowned Oheneba Ntim Barima Band, a Ghanaian Highlife band.
