World Bank commends gov’t over positive decision taken to confront energy sector challenges

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia welcomed the Ghana Country Director, Pierre Laporte, the World Bank Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde, and their team to the Jubilee House for a meeting today Friday, July 14, 2023.

The meeting’s goal was to review the significant issues facing Ghana’s energy industry and how the government, through the appropriate institutions, was resolving them with an emphasis on both short- and long-term solutions.

The World Bank delegation applauded the government for its proactive actions in addressing the difficulties in the energy sector during the discussion. They emphasized their support for the government’s efforts to successfully address these issues as well as their willingness to help.

The Energy Minister, the Minister of State for Finance, and the Minister of the Interior all actively participated in the meeting and contributed significantly to the talks.

The discussion focused on urgent problems in the energy sector and highlighted the government’s initiatives and partnership with the World Bank to develop long-term fixes.

The gathering provided a crucial forum for exchanging knowledge, tactics, and experience in order to address the issues facing Ghana’s energy sector.
