10-year-old girl hangs herself in Agona Duotu

Agona Duotu D/A Basic School in the Central Region’s class 3 student, age 10, hung herself.

On November 7, 2022, in the early hours of the morning, the dead, Afia Awusi, hung herself in the hallway of her residence.

It is unclear what led the little girl to commit suicide.

In a media interview, some locals said they think she may have been slain and hung since they don’t think the young child could have done it alone.

For an autopsy and preservation, the body has been placed in the mortuary of the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.

The Agona Swedru Police Command has been notified about the matter for investigation in the interim.
