2024 Election: Movements for Change members defect to NPP in Ashanti Region

Due to their leader Alan Kyerematen’s lack of commitment, more than 5,000 members of the Movement for Change have defected to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the defectors, who claimed to be from all across the nation, they decided to back Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), since they saw no future under Alan Kyerematen.

Ahead of the 2024 elections, the group stated at a press conference in Kumasi on Wednesday that they are backing the NPP because of Dr. Bawumia’s vision.

According to the defectors’ spokesperson, Anthony Ashmond Cobina, and Asante Constituency Representative Akim Agogo, they would now campaigning for the NPP.

The group has urged the nation’s voters to reject Alan Kyerematen in the 2024 election, stating that doing so will be in vain.

He went on to say that the wisest course of action for Ghana’s future was to support Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and the NPP.
