The National Peace Council is pleading with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to rejoin the Electoral Commission’s Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).

Due to what it views as the Electoral Commission’s unfriendly stance, the NDC has frequently skipped IPAC sessions (EC).

Joana Adzoa Opare, Chair of the National Peace Council’s Conflict Resolution Committee, claims that the council is persistently urging the party to come back.

“The council is hopeful this will enable full participation of all political parties in the Inter-Party Advisory Committee meetings,” Madam Adzoa Opare stated.

On January 26, 2023, the National Peace Council met with representatives of several political parties and urged the NDC to visit IPAC once more.

Madam Joana said that the National Peace Council will keep establishing a forum for interactions between the various political parties in an effort to bring about a lasting peace in the nation.
