The current negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for an economic rescue program, according to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, are the most transparent in Ghana’s history.

He claims that his administration has always been open and honest with Ghanaians.

“The IMF program has never been more transparent than this one. Have you heard anything in 2015 concerning the IMF?” he quizzed.

On Monday, October 17, 2022, while speaking to Andrews Akuoko Korankye (Captain Koda) on OTEC FM, President Akufo-Addo made the following statement.

While acknowledging full responsibility for the current economic situation, President Akufo-Addo stressed that foreign causes cannot be ignored.

As part of his tour of the Ashanti Region on Monday, October 17, President Akufo-Addo informed the host of the morning show on Otec FM, “I am the leader and I accept responsibility.”

However, he is confident that the economy will improve before his tenure is over.

So that we can incorporate it into our budget, he continued, “I hope the IMF help is completed in the middle of November.”

“My hope is to take Ghana out of IMF before I finish my term,” he continued.
