Ghana is celebrating its 38th National Farmers Day today December 2, 2022.

With the theme “Accelerating Agricultural Development Through Value Addition – is instructive and an eye opener in the wake of prevailing global challenges,” this year’s event is being hosted in the Eastern Region.

Since the Ministry of Food and Agriculture established Farmers’ Day in 1988, the first Friday in December has been set aside to honor farmers and fishermen for their contributions to the nation’s food supply and recognize the critical role that a robust agricultural sector plays in the prosperity of the Ghanaian economy.

To commemorate the occasion, a schedule of events is held, including the awarding of prizes to deserving farmers and fishermen in accordance with their best methods and results.

The prize recipients can interact with decision-makers and specialists on technology advancements in the agriculture industry at a National Farmers Forum and express their opinions.
