Gyakye Quayson wins Assin North by-election

James Gyakye Quayson, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate in the Assin North by-election, is reporting victory and is inundated with congratulations from his supporters.

According to preliminary results, he defeated Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Party and Bernice Enyonam Sefenu of the Liberal Party of Ghana.

As of the time of filling this report the provisional results from 83 polling station out of 99 polling station Gyakye Quayson was leading with 14,109 as Charles Opoku his contender got 12,001 respectively.

However, the by-election’s official results have not yet been released by Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC).

But the 2020 candidate for Parliament used his official Facebook page to express his gratitude to the Assin North Constituency residents for giving him another chance.
