The Ghana Police Service has announced a reward of $100,000 for anyone with information that will help identify and apprehend those responsible for the recent killings in Wa.

It comes after one suspect, Kankani Adongo, was previously detained and is still being held in custody to help with investigations.

According to a police update released on Tuesday, it’s probable that other persons are involved in criminal activity; as a result, people shouldn’t be reluctant to collaborate and provide any information to help apprehend the killers who are still at large.

After several security personnel were killed by unidentified assailants in the past few weeks, the most recent killing occurring last Friday, many people of the Wa Municipality and the Upper West Region have been left in fear.

Residents learned of yet another missing private security guard on Friday morning, raising the total to seven in the previous five months.

The body of one of the slain people, who was allegedly killed Friday, September 16, was found by the police on Sunday, September 18.

On Sunday, September 18, the 58-year-old security guard’s body was discovered in a little grave outside of Wa.

The police were contacted by a local search squad.

However, the police have promised the people of Wa and the nearby areas that they will keep the peace.

The body of a male adult was found at Bamahu by the special purpose intelligence and investigative team during their surveillance on the night of September 19, 2022.

The body was taken from the crime scene and placed in the Regional Hospital in Washington in anticipation of the autopsy.

As part of the investigation into the incidents, a team is being led to Wa by a pathologist from the Police Hospital, according to the police update.

To bolster security in the region, about 305 police officers have been stationed there.
