The opening of the 21st Century Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) school placement portal has been announced by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Ghana Education Service (GES), Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) Service, Free Senior High School Secretariat (FSHS), and Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
Therefore, students who are interested in studying just STEM-related programs must visit www.sten-ssp.com.gh to choose their favorite institutions and matching programs.
“Choices made utilizing this site will take precedence over initial selections,” the MoE states.
Students can see the list of new STEM Senior High Schools that will be part of the school placement and selection process in 2023 through the site.
Additionally, it offers details on the STEM programs that are offered as well as the professional paths that they lead to.
Additionally, information about Senior High Schools that would be offering STEM programs for the 2023 academic year is provided on the portal.
Candidates awaiting the results of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) had their children’ school preferences verified in the meantime.
This is a requirement of the school placement process.
According to a statement from the GES, “This verification process is to ensure accuracy in students’ choice information before they are Placed in their selected Second Cycle schools.”
The exercise, which got under way on January 14, 2023, finished on January 22, 2023, on a Sunday.
