Candidates for president have been warned by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to refrain from giving the impression that the party’s electoral roster for its presidential primaries is unreliable.

Some aspirants’ campaign teams expressed worries about the register, stating it is rife with mistakes.

However, the NPP claimed that the members of the committee are closely collaborating with the candidates for president to ensure that all faults are fixed in a statement dated August 7 and signed by the Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee, William Yamoah.

The committee is committed to producing a reliable voter list as well as a free, fair, and transparent election process, the party said.

“We are aware that complaints about albums have been a subject matter of disputes in the history of our political party elections in the 4th Republic and this is exactly what the NPP together with the Presidential Elections Committee is taking steps to avoid in the current contest. It is therefore unfortunate for anyone to give the impression to Ghanaians that the Album is a fallacy.”
