At Ayigya Zongo in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) of the Ashanti Region, a 32-year-old woman is accused of fatally stabbing her partner.

Joseph Bawa allegedly died on Sunday after being fatally stabbed by the suspect, Jennifer Appiah, also known as Maa Akua, after the two got into a fight.

The deceased’s mother, Madam Hawa Alhasan, revealed that when her son arrived at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital, he was pronounced dead.

However, the bereaved mother was unable to explain what led to the miscommunication between the deceased and the suspect.

“Any time there is a misunderstanding between the two, the woman threatens the deceased with a knife or pair of scissors,” she continued. Numerous times, I begged my son to end their relationship, but he resisted doing so until his untimely death.

“Now that the woman who killed my son has escaped, we are pleading with the police to apprehend her and bring her to justice.”

While a police investigation is being conducted, the deceased’s body has been placed in the mortuary at KNUST Hospital.
