The youth Chief who is not happy about the abandoned road project, expressed frustrations calling on the contractor back to site.

According to Nana Awuah, “the contractor, Memphis Construction Limited seems to have abandoned the site for some months because he has not been at work and there is no sign of him returning to site”.

The Chief told Nana Kwame Boah, a journalist that, the contractor has constructed drainages without providing culverts or by-pass roads to link their various houses in the area.

Nana Awuah ll is arguing the situation could be dire as heavy downpours can begin any time soon, and that, it had become a nightmare to apply the roads since they were riddled with mud.

The situation he indicated that, patients are mostly carried on structures to cross drainage to the clinic in the community.

“The lack of culverts and bridges is affecting us. Whenever a resident is sick, we cannot take them to the clinic. We need to park the vehicle somewhere and carry the patient on a structure before we can cross the gutters. It was sad how we sent a sick person to the clinic on structure” he added.

According to Nana Awuah ll, Chief some community elders on several occasions to find out the reason the contractor has abandoned the road project but have not been given any details from the Wassa Amenfi Central district assembly under the auspices of hon Patrick Hockson Aponteng.

“some community leaders have called the DCE on phone on this problem so that the assembly could call the contractor abandoning the project back to the road but we have not received any possible results.

To him, the President, the ministry of roads and the assembly must act quickly to either get the contractor back to site or award it to a different contractor to get the road done.

According to them, the deplorable roads in the district have become a serious setback causing apathy and anger among some core of the youth in the district.

The youth chief revealed that the youth have threatened and are mobilizing to demonstrate against the contractor if he fails to return to site.
