After the Appointments Committee vetted the first group of ministers proposed by President John Mahama, the Ghana’s Parliament confirmed them.
The ministers of finance, justice, and energy, respectively, Cassiel Ato Forson, Dominic Ayine, and John Jinapor, have all been approved by parliament.
Following a debate, on Tuesday, January 21, the House approved the nominations. The three were the first people President John Dramani Mahama nominated.
Confirmed as Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson is anticipated to use his wealth of fiscal policy expertise to address Ghana’s economic difficulties.
Dominic Ayine, who will be Ghana’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, promised to enforce the law and improve the country’s judicial system.
After being appointed Minister of Energy, John Jinapor promised to transform Ghana’s energy industry by supporting renewable energy projects and guaranteeing a steady supply of electricity. Jinapor’s answers during his screening were praised for their thoroughness and lucidity, especially his proposals to improve energy efficiency and lessen reliance on fossil fuels.
