The MTN Stands In Worship Concert this year drew a large crowd of guests to the Dome of the Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi on Easter Sunday night.

A sizable number of guests attended the event, which fell on the day of Christ’s resurrection, to commemorate the occasion.

Performers on the day were Kwaku Gyasi, Obaapa Christy, Brother Sammy, Kofi Sarpong (ACP), who almost set the venue on fire with his songs and dances.

With songs from their repertory, each artist enthralled the crowd.

It was a night of encouragement and appropriate music for the Easter season.

The majority of the audience was seated before the event began at 5 p.m., while DJ Carcious warmed up the auditorium with some “welcoming” tunes for the nervous fans who were hoping for an unforgettable evening.

MC Abena Kay made a stunning appearance to kick off the evening, making sure everyone settled in with her flawless command of both Twi and English.

The eager children, the stylish young people, the refined elderly, and the glowing royal people dressed in sumptuous kente textiles were all prepared to be absorbed into strong ministries.

Beginning with the Kumasi Evengel Choir, guests were treated to more than thirty minutes of performances of local chorals, such as “Watua M’aka” by the Tagoe Sisters, “Just by the Power of God,” “God You’re Good” by Francis Adyei, and Yedi Nkunim.

Following, Bra Sammy, the City’s favorite, had an absolutely amazing performance that moved the audience to worship with his calming, spirit-filled voice.

To rekindle ACP’s enthusiasm, “the Nation’s Worshipper,” as he was lovingly dubbed, began with a magnificent performance of local worship before moving into some stirring praises.

The evening was far from finished, though, as one of Ghana’s best vocalists and live band performers, Obaapa Christy, entered the stage for yet another spectacular performance, treating the crowd to a mash-up of classic, contemporary, and original songs, such as “Ebeyeyie,” “Hyebre Sesafo,” “Aseda,” and “Wagye Me.”

She then skillfully presented Kweku Gyasi, the cherry on top, with their song “Mesuafre Awurade,” capping the evening with yet another unforgettable performance.

The ‘MTN Stand in Worship’ concert has grown to become one of the most sought-after events on the MTN’s calendar; and it has in the past, featured renowned gospel artistes such as Donnie McClurkin, William McDowell, Sinach, Micah Stampley, Nathaniel Bassey, Patrick Duncan, Joe Mettle and Elder Mireku.
